September Blog Hop Fall is in the Air

September Blog Hop - Fall is in the Air

Our theme this month is Fall is in the Air.  And I'll tell you, I am ready for it.  Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year.  Not just the beautiful colors but the cool weather.  Being from Washington, I melt if it's more than 80 degrees.
I found the inspiration for my card on pinterest, done by Susan Itell at Simple Stampin.  I had to use the colors she did because frankly they are gorgeous and perfect for fall.  And as Susan said, it's a super easy card with a big WOW!  My favorite!  I think I just found the technique I'm going to demonstrate at the Washington State Fair this Saturday the 6th, in the Hobby Hall from 11:30-1:30pm.

Started with a standard card base size 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss layer is 4 x 5 1/4, and the Very Vanilla top layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  Used dimensionals to pop up the Blackberry Bliss layer from the base.
Now for the fun and easy part.  Ink up your stamp (I used Crushed Curry) then with a couple sponge daubers I used one in Old Olive and randomly daubed on the stamp, then with the other dauber used Blackberry Bliss and daubed randomly also.  TA DA!  Easy Peasy!
If you are going to be making several of these make sure you clean your stamp after each card, because you don't want to ink up your stamp with the Crushed Curry if you still have Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss on your stamp.
For the ribbon I used glue dots to put a piece of Hello Honey across and a smaller piece to tie a knot around the strip.

Now for the envelope I used Regals Designer Series Paper Stack in the Crushed Curry and attached it to the flap.

It's a Man Thing Blog Hop

I am so glad Stampin' Up! brought back The Open Seas stamp set. It's one of my favorite stamps sets to use with "guy" cards.

The measurements for the Daffodil Delight is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, and the Night of Navy (under the boat) is 3 x 2 1/4.

The first layer is Chocolate Chip which I ran through with the Argyle TIEF (textured impressions embossing folder).  And card base is Very Vanilla same as the stamped pieces.

The accessories used are:  Argyle TIEF, Decorative Label Punch, and brads.

Top Note Die Gift Card Holder

Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Come to Bethlehem
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Basic Black
Accessories:  Rhinestone Brads, Silver Cord, Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF), Petals a Plenty TIEF, Stripes TIEF, Top Note Big Shot Die, Petite Curly Label Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-way Glue Pen, Dimensionals, Glue Dots.

Run 2 pieces each of Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die.  Then run one of the white card stock pieces through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print TIEF and the other piece using the Stipes TIEF.  Cut the border off of the Pretty Print piece and layer on one of the Cherry Cobbler pieces.  With the other Cherry Cobbler Top Note piece cut in half and run through Big Shot using Petals a Plenty TIEF and used as the pocket on the inside (remember not to put adhesive on the top of the cut piece or you won't be able to put the gift card in).  Stamped a couple ornaments using the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, one in Cherry Cobbler, the other in Night of Navy.  Use retired Ornament Keepsakes frame lit die to cut out ornaments on the Big Shot.  Used 2-way Glue Pen on ornaments and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on top of them.  Cut out stamped star from the Come to Bethlehem set.  Line up your 2 Top Note pieces and use paper piercer to poke hole in upper left corner and put in the brad.  Attach pieces of silver cord with glue dots and dimensionals behind ornament pieces.

Holiday Blog Hop

For my Christmas cards this year I chose to use Calm Christmas (clear 132739) $14.95 from the 2013 Holiday catalog.  I first tried it in the combination of Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant.
Stamps:
Calm Christmas #132739 clear $14.95

Paper:
Melon Mambo #115320 $6.95
Elegant Eggplant #105126 $6.95
Very Vanilla #101650 $8.50 (40 sheets)

Ink:
Elegant Eggplant #126969

Accessories:
Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #132175 $7.95, Scallop Trim Border Punch #118402 $15.95, Dimentionals #104430 $3.95

Take your 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Melon Mambo and use Pretty Print Textured Embossing Folder on half of it.
On your 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 pc. of Very Vanilla stamp the dove at a slight angle up.  Attach to a 4 x 4 pc. of Elegant Eggplant.  Stamp "Peace on Earth" on a 1 x 2 1/2 pc. of Very Vanilla.  Use Scallop Trim Border Punch on a 2 1/2" strip of Elegant Eggplant and attach behind bottom piece of "Peace on Earth".  Use dimentionals to attach 4x4 piece to card base and dimentionals on back of small piece.  For the inside I cut a piece of white paper 4 x 5 1/4 and attached to inside of card.  Stamped the sentiment and leaf.

Card below is done the exact same just the colors are different.  I used Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler with Whisper White.
