September Blog Hop - Fall is in the Air
Our theme this month is Fall is in the Air. And I'll tell you, I am ready for it. Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year. Not just the beautiful colors but the cool weather. Being from Washington, I melt if it's more than 80 degrees.
I found the inspiration for my card on pinterest, done by Susan Itell at
Simple Stampin. I had to use the colors she did because frankly they are gorgeous and perfect for fall. And as Susan said, it's a super easy card with a big WOW! My favorite! I think I just found the technique I'm going to demonstrate at the Washington State Fair this Saturday the 6th, in the Hobby Hall from 11:30-1:30pm.
Started with a standard card base size 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss layer is 4 x 5 1/4, and the Very Vanilla top layer is 3 3/4 x 5. Used dimensionals to pop up the Blackberry Bliss layer from the base.
Now for the fun and easy part. Ink up your stamp (I used Crushed Curry) then with a couple sponge daubers I used one in Old Olive and randomly daubed on the stamp, then with the other dauber used Blackberry Bliss and daubed randomly also. TA DA! Easy Peasy!
If you are going to be making several of these make sure you clean your stamp after each card, because you don't want to ink up your stamp with the Crushed Curry if you still have Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss on your stamp.
For the ribbon I used glue dots to put a piece of Hello Honey across and a smaller piece to tie a knot around the strip.
Now for the envelope I used Regals Designer Series Paper Stack in the Crushed Curry and attached it to the flap.
